M.
Katherine Katie Goodman 88, who is the executive
director of the New Hampshire Writers Project, was recently named
by the New Hampshire Union Leader as one of its 2003 40 Under
Forty young leaders making New Hampshire a better place to live.
The Jan. 27 edition of the Union Leader included an article about
Goodman and her plans for the Writers Project.
In April, she organized a weekend conference, "Poetry and Politics," in
Manchester, N.H. The event, which gathered the nation's state poets laureate,
consisted of 36 statewide poetry readings in one day; daylong panel discussions;
and a gala dinner, featuring a keynote address by Dana Goia, the new chairman
of the National Endowment for the Arts. An article about the program appeared
in the "Books" section of the April 28 edition of The New
York Times.
