The second Holy Cross Cares Day will take place on March
27. This year, organizers are hoping to broaden participation
in the day's events to include Holy Cross alums as well as
students and
members of the faculty.
Last April, approximately 350 students and faculty members participated in Holy
Cross Cares Day, a one-day outreach program which allowed members of the Holy
Cross community to practice the
ideals of the Jesuit phrase, "men and women for others." Volunteers worked at
27 different sites in Worcester and surrounding towns in many projects, including
chaperoning a Boys and Girls Club field trip, building a camp amphitheater, cleaning
vacant lots, and painting the porches and fences
of a community center.
