Cultural Alliance of Newport County. Lisa (Duffy) Gilley, who received her degree
from the Catholic University Law School, Washington, D.C., in 1996, is currently
working in the legal department at Discovery Communications Inc. in Bethesda,
Md. Kevin J. Healy is now vice president - senior key account manager - with
Dreyfus Investments in New York City. Kevin J. and Susan (McMahon) Murphy announce
the birth of their son, Christian William, on July 3, 1997. Anthony S. Oliva,
M.D., who is currently living in Pittsburgh, Pa., is serving his general surgery
residency at Mercy Hospital. Julie M. Solinski, who received her degree from
Pace University Law School in May 1997 and then passed the New York state bar
exam, is currently with the national department of the First American Title Insurance
Co. in New York City. Bradley J. Stamm and his wife, Meegan '92, announce the
birth of their daughter, Madeline Rose, on Sept. 23, 1997. Stamm has been named
a partner in the Williamsville, N.Y., law firm, Stamm, Reynolds and Stamm. Patrick
C. Trombly, who currently practices contract litigation with the Navy Office
of General Counsel in Washington, D.C., recently co-authored a motion and brief
which resolved favorably a case before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
In November, he passed the Uniform CPA Examination.

government affairs and small business matters. James F. Shea has joined the Hartford,
Conn., law firm of Jackson, Lewis, Schnitzler & Krupman. Meegan Matlak Stamm
and her husband, Bradley '91, announce the birth of their daughter, Madeline
Rose, on Sept. 23, 1997. Stamm works as a social worker in the Buffalo public
school system. George R. Strayton, who has relocated to Hollywood, Calif., is
the director of marketing and merchandising for Renaissance Pictures, the production
company that produces "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess."

Delaney began working at AnswerThink Consulting Group in New York City, a newly
created consulting company which offers a range of services to securities firms.
Lily Ann M. Divino has been working in New York City since June 1997 as the community
outreach coordinator for the New York chapter of the arthritis foundation. John
P. Flaherty III has joined the tax department of the regional public accounting
and consulting firm of Alexander, Aronson, Finning & Co., in Westboro, Mass.
Steven D. Harr, who is completing his studies at the Johns Hopkins School of
Medicine, Baltimore, Md., has accepted a residency in internal medicine at the
University of California-San Francisco. Lynn-Marie Herlihy received her master
of science degree from Tufts University, Medford, Mass. Capt. Thomas P. Humann,
USMC, and his wife, Kim, announce the birth of their son, Thomas Patrick, on
March 14. Lisa (O'Neill) Martel is currently working at Meditec, Canton, Mass.,
in its international division. Matthew A. Martel, who is completing his studies
at the Catholic University Law School, Washington, D.C., has accepted a position
with Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault in Boston. Miguel-Angelo Pires, who is currently
a police officer in the Brighton/Allston, Mass., area, owns a karate school,
the Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy, in Stoughton. Eileen A. Roche is now working
as a manuscript editor at the Harvard Business Review in Allston, Mass. Nancy
A. Slaney has recently been promoted to assistant controller for the Plymouth
Savings Bank and its subsidiary, Plymouth Mortgage Co., in Middleboro, Mass.
Slaney, who joined Plymouth Savings in 1997, is now responsible for managing
the accounting department, preparing the annual budget and overseeing the profitability
software. Keith A. Vendola is currently pursuing a joint M.D./ M.B.A. degree
with Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H., and Northwestern's J.L. Kellogg

he performed at the Woodstock Shakespeare Festival. Shannon M. Harding, a research

working with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. David R. Holmes
placed second in MTV's, "I wanna be a MTV VJ" search which took place recently
in New York City; he had been one of five finalists selected from 4,000 candidates
seeking the video jockey position. James M. Ingoglia, who is a student at Hofstra
University Law School, Hempstead, N.Y., has been appointed managing editor of
articles for volume 27 of the Hofstra Law Review, 1998-99. Alison K. Kozowyk
is a conversion specialist at Putnam Investments in Quincy, Mass. Jennifer I.
Leonard is a senior account manager with the Giga Information Group based in
New York City. Jennifer A. Lindwall, who is completing her studies at the University
of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, has accepted a pediatric residency
at the University of Connecticut in Hartford. Beth (Hughes) Mittelman works in
the mergers and acquisitions group of the software services firm, Mastech Corp.,
in Oakdale, Pa. Caren L. Piela, who is the publicist and manager of communications
for the Sony Corporation of America, works with Sony's music, movies, Play Station,
electronics and online businesses; she also conducts premieres and screenings
for Sony in New York City. Michael C. Stracco is currently working for a small

year at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, School of Medicine,
in Bethesda, Md. Lt. j.g. Shane D. Cooper, USN, was recently presented the "Silver
Dolphins" pin with his designation as "Enlisted Submarine Warfare Specialist," while
serving with the submarine Precommissioning Unit Connecticut, based at Groton,
Conn. He earned the silver dolphins insignia after spending more than 48 weeks
learning the different phases of submarine operations. Kristopher R. Davignon
is completing his third year at the University of Vermont-College of Medicine,
in Burlington. Robert M. Frost Jr., who is completing his studies at the University
of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, has accepted the position of first-year
associate with the law firm of Zeldes, Needle & Couper in Bridgeport, Conn.
Kristina E. Johnson, who is completing her studies at Northeastern University
School of Law, Boston, has accepted the position of associate in the litigation
department of the Boston firm, Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault. Kevin M. Kudla
recently completed one year as both the men's and women's assistant basketball
coach at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Maria G. Marranzini is attending
Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wis. John P. McLaughlin
received his juris doctor degree from Suffolk University, Boston, in May. Christina
L. Mercogliano is currently working for Oracle Corp., Redwood Shores, Calif.,
as a senior compliance analyst. John F. Miller works on the portfolio strategies
desk in the fixed income division of Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc., in New York
City. 1st Lt. John M. Orsmond, USMC, is now taking advanced helicopter training
in Milton, Fla. June M. Sanchez received her master of science degree in education
with a certification in intensive special needs from Simmons College, Boston,
in May. Karen M. Schessler teaches first grade in Bernardsville, N.J. Elizabeth
R. Slattery, who works for Manpower Inc., has recently been promoted to supervisor
in the company's Westborough, Mass., office. Patrick J. Slattery teaches mathematics
and serves as the director of technology at the Hillside School in Marlborough,
Mass. Joseph D. Vaccaro, who is completing his studies at St. John's University
Law School, has accepted the position of tax consultant at Price-Waterhouse in

as an assistant. Michael L. Gannon is now assistant editor at Venture Capital
Journal, Securities Data Publishing, in New York City. Robert D. Gominiak has
been promoted to assistant vice president at Fleet Bank in Boston where he oversees
first-time homeowner mortgages. Juliann Jakimczyk is currently serving her second
year with the JVC; she coordinates an after-school program and teaches preschool
to formerly homeless children in New York City. Kara R. MacDermott is in her
first year at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn. Michael K. Manville
has been named public relations manager by the Nantucket Island (Mass.) Chamber
of Commerce. Daniel P. Moneypenny is currently a graduate student and teaching
assistant in medical studies at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.
Cristin Mulderig is completing her first year at the University of North Carolina
School of Medicine, Chapel Hill. Elliot M. Repko teaches middle-school French
and English and coaches the boys' crew team at the Hun School of Princeton in
New Jersey. Jason W. Roos, who is a student at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine,

Sirois '96 Receives Grant
Brian C. Sirois '96, who is currently working on his
Ph.D. in the department of clinical and health psychology at the University of
Florida at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, is involved in research, clinical
assessments and therapy with adults and children in the psychology clinic there.
Specializing in health psychology/behavioral medicine, he does medical inpatient
consultations and addresses issues such as chronic pain and pre-transplant evaluations.
In addition to presenting research at the Society of
Behavioral Medicine and the Florida Psychological Association conferences,
Sirois has received a grant from the Shands Hospital to perform
a two-year research
study on the various factors and cost outcomes related to patients receiving
nonsurgical cardiac interventions. Co-author of another grant from the Florida
Department of Public Health, he is also collaborating on a project concerned
with disease prevention in the rural areas of Florida.

was recently elected co-president of Boston University's

in Oregon in November, now works for the League of Women
Voters of Massachusetts. Jennifer M. DePrizio is pursuing
a master's program in museum education at George Washington
University in Washington, D.C. Timothy F. Doyle is with
the JVC in Mobile, Ala. Erica L. Driscoll is currently
working for Computerworld Publishing, Framingham, Mass.,
in its recruitment advertising sales department. Carolyn
J. Flynn is completing her first year at the University
of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford. Ryan M. Hanson
has been promoted to media planner at Foote, Cone & Belding
Advertising in New York City. Alison A. Hawkins is currently
with the JVC in Hillsboro, Ore., where she works in a migrant
health clinic. Marina M. Hoffmann is currently working
at LIFE magazine in public relations for Time, Inc., in
New York City. Marissa J. Kelly is completing her first
year at the University of Notre Dame School of Law in South
Bend, Ind. Dana E. Knox played the role of "The Beast" in
the May 17 presentation of Beauty and the Beast at the
Rutland (Vt.) Intermediate School; the performance was
a production of the American Family Theater's "Broadway
for Kids." Sheri A. LaFramboise, who works for Andersen
Consulting out of Hartford, Conn., is currently working
on a project in Philadelphia. Ricardo D. Machado teaches
advanced placement calculus and pre-calculus and serves
as assistant junior varsity baseball coach at his alma
mater, the Monsignor Pace High School, in Miami, Fla. Sarah
A. Maney has accepted a position as a university fellow
in the history department at Northwestern University in
Chicago. Robert A. O'Connell, who teaches mathematics and
science at the Newman Preparatory School in Boston, is
also taking courses at Boston College toward certification
in mathematics instruction. 2nd Lt. Michael J. Powers,
USMC, who recently received his commission, is currently
stationed at Quantico, Va., where he attends "The Basic
School." Kathleen A. Straw attends the Boston University
School of Public Health where she is concentrating in health
law. Stacey L. Valentine is now working at the Massachusetts
General Hospital, Charlestown, in the molecular developmental
neuroscience department. Kimberly A. Wise currently works
at the New England Center for Children where she teaches
autistic children, aged five to seven, in a one-on-one
setting; she is also enrolled in a master's program for
intensive special needs at Simmons College in Boston.
