2007-2008 Premed Committee Meetings and Deadlines for matriculation in Fall 2009

Information Meeting: September 20, 2007
Deadline to submit forms to activate file and choose advisor:
Friday, September 28
Meet with advisor:
ASAP after assigned, by Wednesday, Oct. 10
Autobiography workshop:
Expected Sat., October 13
Meeting about Kaplan course:
Look for notice; usually in December, the last week of semester
Initial draft of autobiography:
Before start of spring semester (to premed advisor)
Final draft of autobiography and other materials: February 15, 2008 (see committee link for details)
Recommendation letters: (min. 3) to Premed Office by Feb 15, 2008
Rec. letters for spring classes: April 7, 2008
On-line application system opens for AMCAS: May 1, 2008
Rolling applications start for AMCAS, ADSAS:
June 1, 2008
Rolling applications start for ACOMAS (DO programs): July 1, 2008
Complete secondary applications: ASAP
Send in envelopes/list of schools to premed office:
July 2008
Veterinary applications due:
October 1, 2008
Last day to hold multiple acceptances: May 15, 2009
Start medical school: August, 2009

2007-8 Test dates

MCAT: Offered several times a year via computer testing
- Information, including registration deadlines (look under registration)
- Note: you should take the April (or shortly thereafter) test if you plan to apply to medical school this year

DAT (Dental Admission Test): Any date via computer (Information)

VCAT (Veterinary College Admission Test): (Information)
- Note: some veterinary schools require GRE, GRE subject or MCAT exams instead of the VCAT. Link to required tests by vet school
