Holy Cross Women In Business Conference
Julie Halpin ’84, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, The Geppetto Group
Julie Halpin, a founder and CEO of The Geppetto Group, is one of the most powerful voices in the youth marketplace. Opening the doors to Geppetto in September 1997 following her high profile years as a founder and general manager of Saatchi & Saatchi’s Kid Connection, Julie has successfully caught the ad world’s attention with what has quickly become a “hot” youth agency on the pulse of pop culture.
At Geppetto, Julie oversees the development of marketing and advertising campaigns and new product development for clients including Lego, the NFL, Samsung, J&J, Nestle, the Library of Congress and Major League Baseball to name a few.
Whether helping a client create an entirely new product for the youth market, or helping them think about why a young person might embrace their current products, Julie’s orientation is to find the true “win/win” – where both the needs of the consumer and the needs of the marketer are met. From the creation of the first-ever kid advertising for Nike to the development of Polaroid’s highly successful I-Zone camera, Julie’s work at Geppetto has spanned the entire spectrum of youth categories including food, toys, beverages, entertainment, video games, quick service restaurants, apparel, television properties, candy, sports and more.
Julie's introduction to the world of marketing began in 1984 at Leo Burnett Co. where she worked on M&M/Mars. Julie has a B.A. from Holy Cross and an M.A. from New York University.
