Donald Brand teaches courses in American politics and American national institutions. He has been at the College of the Holy Cross since September 1995. Before coming to Holy Cross he taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Franklin and Marshall College, and Wilkes University. Professor Brand has a B.A. from Williams College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He has also taught high school math and science as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal for three years and was a VISTA volunteer in Phoenix, AZ for one year. Professor Brand is the author of Corporatism and the Rule of
Law: A Study of the National Recovery Administration. He has
also published numerous articles in edited books and in journals such as
Political Science Quarterly, and Political Science Reviewer.
He is currently investigating the role of the concept of sovereignty in
American liberalism.
