Jeff Bernstein is on a sabbatical

Jeffrey Bernstein received his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University.  His areas of research include Spinoza, German Philosophy, and Jewish thought.  He has published articles dealing with the thought of Spinoza, Kant, Schelling, Heidegger, Benjamin, and Agamben and is currently at work on a manuscript examining the relation between history and iconoclasm in the thought of Spinoza, Kant and Schelling.  His interests include:  (1) the reception of Spinoza's philosophy in subsequent European thought and (2) modern/contemporary critiques of theological-political idolatry and historical teleology.
