Lawrence Cahoone is Associate Professor of Philosophy at
the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received
his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985
and taught until 2000 at Boston University.
He is the author of The Dilemma of Modernity: Philosophy, Culture, and Anticulture (SUNY 1988), The Ends of Philosophy: Pragmatism, Foundationalism, and Postmodernism (SUNY 1995, reprinted Blackwell 2002), Civil Society: The Conservative Meaning of Liberal Politics (Blackwell 2002), Cultural Revolutions: Reason versus Culture in Contemporary Philosophy, Politics, and Jihad (Penn State, 2005), and editor of From Modernism to Postmodernism: An Anthology (second edition, Blackwell 2003). |
