Professor Bruce Hopkins earned his Bachelor of Music degree at Boston Conservatory of Music and his Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. His teachers have included William Vacchiano, Roger Voisin, John Coffey, Carmine Caruso and Julio Tancredi. Mr. Hopkins is presently Principal Trumpet with the Symphonic Brass, the Thayer Symphony Orchestra and the Central Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Brass Quintet. He has appeared as soloist with the Thayer Symphony and the C.M.S.O. as well as the Ocean State Chamber Orchestra. He performs regularly as part of a trumpet and organ duo with Dr. Frank Corbin and also plays lead trumpet for the Worcester Pro Jazz Ensemble. Prof. Hopkins is also Director of Band at Assumption College, Trumpet Instructor/Brass Ensemble Director at Clark University and Instructor of Brass at the Performing Arts School of Worcester as well as being Executive Director of Music Performance Service.
