Professor Cohen received his B.M. from the University of Western Ontario and has been teaching for over 20 years. He has performed as Principal Cellist in the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and as Co-Principal Cellist in the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and currently plays for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Handel and Haydn Society, and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. His teachers have included Irene Sharp, Margaret Rowell, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and Janos Starker. He has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia, and regularly tours with the Johann Strauss Festival Orchestra of Vienna. Prof. Cohen was a member of the faculty at Municipal Music School in Tulln, Austria for several years and is currently on the faculty of the Performing Arts School of Worcester.
