My name is Pablo Carriedo. I was born in 1978 in
León a small and beautiful city placed in the north of Spain.
I
began to study Spanish Philology at its University in 1996. Also I got there my
Ph.D. degree in 2005 with a theme on Spanish Contemporary Poetry. I have worked
in Spain as research fellow for León University and other private
institutions related with Spanish Literature.
I don't have any brothers
or sisters. My mother always tells me that maybe for that reason I love reading
since I was a boy. Really, language and literature are my favourite passions.
I'm charmed with them. In fact I think they are a kind of magic that can make
from this world a better place to live. I hope we can discover it, knowing
together something more about the Spanish culture in this year.
But
don't think I'm always thinking about books. I love cinema and music so much
too (even I play the guitar a little bit). I also like swimming and I use to
watch the matches of my soccer team, the FC Barcelona on TV. Talking with
friends, time does not exist for me.
I have never been in the United
States before, so this year will be a great experience to meet new people and
to see places I always had wanted to know. |
