Fayçal Jabbar

Foreign Language Assistant ~ French

Hello there, my name's Fayçal but, I have been called Faith for a long time because of my sense of leadership and positive personality. Due to my passion, which I've held since the age of eight, for the English language, I majored in English and North American studies (Grammar, Linguistics, Literature, and Civilization) in Strasbourg University. What I've learnt thus far elucidates the person that I am and justifies my choice in the person I would like to become: My other interests include theatre studies and I have been taking drama classes for a few years; also an uncanny enthusiasm for XVIII° and XIX° century French literature, especially the intercultural aspects with Persian literature and Art History, particularly the French Romanticism.

Teaching is the perfect amalgamation of all my passions: to propagate basic yet thought provoking ideas, whilst simultaneously entertaining an audience with wisdom and knowledge. On a deeper level, this mission is to get in the Dialogue, the world's lofty Logos that College education through generations is. Hence, the justification of my teaching at Holy Cross this year is to share my first-hand experience of the French language, customs and history, to ensure the students' improvement of their linguistic proficiency.
