The course focuses on
the oral production of French in “public speaking” situations. It offers
the students the opportunity to engage in individualized (lab)work on French
phonetics and the finer points of French pronunciation. Student performed
activities include at least one lecture-type class presentation; however,
most attention is given to oral readings and/or performances of poems,
dramatic literature, etc. The course culminates in student-directed and
produced dramatic readings of plays.
For those who
“love the sound of French” and want to experience the joy of performing
these sounds while improving their pronunciation and delivery.
