Mission
Statement
College of the Holy Cross Libraries
The
mission of the Holy Cross Libraries is to support
the information needs of the College, a Catholic
liberal arts undergraduate institution which,
in the Jesuit tradition, pursues excellence in
teaching, learning and research. We are dedicated
to the rich intellectual traditions of the past
and the informational promise of the future. The
Libraries adhere to national standards and practices
of librarianship, ensure freedom of information
and the right to privacy, and lead the College
in integrating technological innovations into
the scholarly process. We strive to create an
environment of mutual respect that nourishes personal
growth and supports the educational, instructional
and cultural needs of the community by providing
quality services, appropriate scholarly collections
and equitable access to resources here and beyond
our walls. We affirm our mission through each
policy and service as we assist the members of
our community in gaining knowledge and developing
skills in order to enrich their own lives and
the lives of others.
