Liberation
of Buchenwald (Nordhausen)
These
photographs have been selected from a set taken by Major
Orval C. Clark, 104th US Infantry Division, on April 12th,
1945. The images reflect what Clark witnessed at the time
of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp at Nordhausen,
a sub-camp of Buchenwald. The titles on the links to the
photographs were not assigned to the original images and
have been added here for descriptive purposes only. The
Clark file, kept in the College of the Holy
Cross Archives in Dinand Library, contains a total
of 35 photographs.
