Dinand Library, Access Services Librarian 2000-present

Oversee the circulation, interlibrary loan, stacks, reserves, library technology, and evening/weekend supervisors staff and departments. Responsible for the staffing and functional operations of these areas. Conduct regular staff evaluations and create development plans. Primary assistant for the Head of Reader Services and act as Public Services point person in her absence. Staff the reference desk and conduct training/BI sessions on various topics. Assist faculty, students, and general community in locating source materials. Researched and implemented an electronic reserves system during my first year in this position. Responsible for keeping current with the various systems and technology within the access services departments.

Conducted usability evaluations/needs analysis with users and incorporated those needs into the user interface requirements. Held site visits at various healthcare organizations and offices to solicit input of physicians, and various healthcare professionals on the ease of use and usefulness of our products. Designed and developed web-based medical software user interface. Documented functional, data, and information processing requirements.

Human Factors and Medicine Specialist, Center for Applied Medical Informatics (CAMI) 1994-1997

Managed projects regarding evaluation, design, and development of medical information systems in a consulting role to corporate and community organizations. Developed and taught various aspects of Medical Informatics curriculum including human factors engineering, literature searching, the use of the World-Wide-Web for medical information, and user-centered design. Provided educational instruction to faculty, resident physicians, and medical students on a variety of topics. Formulated policy regarding various interlibrary loan functions (i.e., FAX, deposit accounts, past due payments and procedural guidelines). Generated statistical and other reports as necessary.

College of the Holy Cross Greening Committee member. Comprised of students, faculty, and staff, this committee is interested in promoting environmental responsibility and increasing the overall environmental consciousness of the College.

Steering Committee member and participant in the Clark University Alumni Mentor program in conjunction with the University Park Campus School. Interact directly with three Worcester public high school students regarding careers and opportunities post-college. Plan activities for entire group.

Alumni Admissions Program volunteer, Clark University. Conduct interviews of perspective students and attend college fairs as representative of the University.
