SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships)
SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships) is a program funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the National Science Foundation. About 100 fellowships are awarded each year to undergraduates with a science major and a minimum GPA of 3.0. They especially encourage applications from students majoring in physics, materials science, engineering, computer science, chemistry and applied mathematics. In addition to covering travel and housing exenses, students receive a stipend of $4,000 for the 12 week research fellowship in Washington, DC. The application deadline is February 15th.
