National Security Language Institute
The National Security Language Institute hopes to increase the number of Americans learning critical need foreign languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Hindi, Farsi and others through programs such as The Department of State Critical Language Scholarships for Intensive Summer Language Institues. Recipients of these scholarships are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period and later apply their critical language skills in their professional careers. The Intensive Summer Language Institutes for Summer 2006 were administered by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.
