The Grants Program for North American Teaching Assistants in Spain is offered by the Spanish Embassy Office of Education and Science. 1,000 grants were awarded for the 2007-2008 academic year. Assistants share their language and culture in elementary, secondary and language schools throughout Spain under the supervision of a classroom teacher. In exchange for a teaching load of approximately 12 hors per week, award winners receive a stipend of 631 euros per month after taxes, medical insurance, and a teacher orientation course at the start of the year. Previous experience studying in Spain is not a problem! All Holy Cross students who applied for this last year won! The dealine will probably be mid-April.
