AMERICAN GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS

Eligibility:
|
|
U. S. citizens graduating or recently graduated from small or mid-sized private liberal arts colleges or universities entering a doctoral program in History, Philosophy, Literature and Languages (including Classics; excluding Linguistics) and Fine Arts (excluding archaeology and Performing or Studio Arts). Fellowships are tenable at any one of 23 eligible research universities in the United States, Great Britain or Ireland.

In addition to the application form (downloadable from the website) and college transcripts, applicants must receive an institutional recommendation and submit a personal statement (maximum 1,000 words) and a descriptive book review (maximum 1,250 words) of a book that has shaped your understanding of advanced study in your chosen field . Other parts of the application include two letters of recommendation from faculty members, an optional letter of recommendation from a senior administrator. And GRE Scores, which must be sent to the CIC by December 1 st, 2006.

GENERAL INFORMATION This is a brand new fellowship opportunity, funded by the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation. The fellowships will be awarded anually for a period of five years.
