Welcome to the web page of the Office of Distinguished Fellowships and Graduate Studies. As an institution devoted to undergraduate liberal arts education, Holy Cross has no graduate courses of its own. However, it prides itself on placing its students in the best graduate programs in this country and abroad. The Office of Distinguished Fellowships and Graduate Studies oversees the activities of the Committee on Graduate Studies and Fellowships, of which the Director of the Office of Distinguished Fellowships and Graduate Studies is the Chair. In this capacity it assists and recommends students applying for various competitive and prestigious fellowship awards: Beinecke, Fulbright, Goldwater, Marshall, Mellon, Mitchell, Rhodes, Truman, Rotary, among others. It also serves as a resource for students applying for graduate programs of all kinds. Information is available about Graduate Record Examinations, directories of graduate programs can be examined, and you can be referred to one of the departmental Graduate Studies Advisors for individual assistance.
These two main functions form the basis for this web site. In addition the site includes general information about proposal writing and includes links to many other web sites around the world that will add useful advice. The Director of the Office of Distinguished Fellowships and Graduate Studies is available to individual students to discuss their ideas, projects, and plans and to consult on the best way to present these in applications. The current Director is:
