I usually confine my academic pursuits to the work day at Holy Cross. In sports, I am a long-time and happily rewarded Red Sox fan. True to my southern roots, I also follow stock car racing. In my youth, I made road trips to most of the major speedways, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Darlington, Daytona, and Rockingham. Here in New England I like to watch the modifieds race at Thompson, Stafford, and Loudon. I stay active with jogging and stationary biking, and I am an avid hiker of the high peaks of New Hampshire's White Mountains. I listen to a lot of music, mostly on noncommercial FM stations like WCUW and WICN in Worcester and WDVX in Knoxville. I am a devotee of Americana, including Cajun, alternative country, and bluegrass. I love the blues, especially slide-guitar based, and I continue to enjoy some rock, like Lou Reed , Neil Young, and Dire Straits. In the spring and summer I tend my vegetable and fruit gardens. If I could, I would grow chocolate, lots of chocolate.
