Each year a number of cash prizes and other awards are given by the College to students who have demonstrated excellence in a particular area. Students are encouraged to compete for prizes in the writing competitions. A student may compete for more than one prize. However, different essays must be submitted for each writing competition.

- February 8 - deadline to submit name and nature of entry to Department Chair
- March 13 - deadline to submit essay to Department Chair
