The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College is responsible for all matters relating to the faculty, curriculum, and academic affairs. The Office is involved in activities ranging from hiring and promotion to strategic planning.
Among other things, the Office of the Dean works closely with:
academic departments in hiring, developing facilities and equipment, and developing curriculum;
special programs in order to support the work of the faculty and students;
the Deans' Advisory Group to insure the integrity of each student's academic experience;
individual faculty to facilitate their teaching and research interests;
the staff of the Library to provide students and faculty with a wide range of print and electronic resources;
Office of Grants and Corporate and Foundation Giving to secure external support for research and curricular programs.
The Office of the Dean also sponsors a number of speakers, events, and faculty development opportunities. Among these are workshops on the use of educational technology, an ongoing faculty discussion group focusing on Catholic Studies, and a speaker series addressing issues related to Religion and Modernity.
