Bishop Thomas Gumbleton
Thomas
J. Gumbleton has been Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit since 1968.
He has served as Founding President of Pax Christi USA and President
of Bread for the World. He was a member of the Commmittee which
drafted the 1983 Pastoral letter of the U.S. Bishops, "The
Challenge of Peace."
Sponsored by the Agape Community and the Center for Religion,
Ethics and Culture. The Agape Community in Hardwick, Mass. is
devoted to Christian prayer, peace education and nonviolence.
Bishop Gumbleton's talk, on the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi,
marks the Twentieth Anniversary of the Community.
