The
Science Complex

Comprised of three connected buildings – Haberlin, Swords
and the newly-renovated O’Neil Hall – the College’s center
for the natural sciences and mathematics is situated on the
west
side of Beaven
Hall.
Facilities in the complex include: laboratories, classrooms
and offices for the departments of biology, chemistry,
mathematics and physics; lounges for faculty and students;
a spacious
atrium capped by skylights; a smaller skylit atrium where
exotic plants are grown; a greenhouse and facilities
for aquatic research.
The
complex also houses the O’Callahan Science Library in Swords
Hall. With seating for 120 students, it contains over 90,000
volumes
in the sciences and mathematics,
a collection considered among the strongest in the region.
