The following events are sponsored or co-sponsored by Women's and Gender Studies.

FALL

  • October 15: Daybreak Breakfast (7:45 AM, Hogan Ballroom) This year's speaker is Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Murray.
  • November 28 : Gender in Indonesia--Notes from Two Travelers' Notebooks (12:00 Noon, Smith 324) Professors Diane Bukatko and Amy Wolfson will talk about their recent trip to Indonesia.

SPRING

  • February 14: "I Never Think About My Race": Understanding White Racial Identities (4:00 PM, Hogan 304). Andrea Dottolo, Ph.D., Visiting Professor of Psychology at Worcester State College. Co-sponsored by WGST and the Education Department.
  • February 20 : Films of Pedro Almodovar (4 PM, Stein 133) Dr. Marvin D'Lugo, Clark University. Co-sponsored by WGST and Visual Arts.
  • March 26: Mentoring Women in the Environmental Professions (6:00 PM, Hogan 401). Panel discussion hosted by Environmental Studies and the MA Chapter to the Society of Women Environmental Professionals.
  • April 10: Katherine Henry Memorial Women's Health Lecture (4:00 PM, Hpgan 304) Marian F. Earls '76, MD, FAAP, Medical Director, Guilford Child Health.
  • April 16: LBGT U.S. History in the 60s and 70s (4:30 PM) Dr. Ian Lekus, Visiting Professor of History, Tufts University. Co-sponsored by WGST and the History Department.

  • April 24: Gender in Spanish Contemporary Literature, Pr. Noel Valis, Yale University. Co-sponsored by WGST, LALS, and the Spanish Program.
  • April 25: Women's and Gender Studies Capstone Presentations and Lunch Women's and Gender Studies seniors will present their capstone projects as part of the college's annual Academic Conference.
