Students
are encouraged to apply for acceptance into this program in
their first or second years and they must enroll no later
than preregistration for their senior year. Enrollment in
the program accords students priority in some environmental
courses. A consultation with the program's faculty coordinator
should be arranged well in advance of the anticipated enrollment
date.
The application for enrollment consists of a brief letter
explaining the student's interest in the program, and a list
of courses for the four undergraduate years. This application
is reviewed by the coordinator in consultation with the Environmental
Studies Committee, and a recommendation is forwarded to the
director of CISS, who formally approves the application. Any
changes in the courses designated for the concentration requires the
approval of the student's advisor and the Faculty Coordinator.
Upon completion of the proposed coursework, the student's
transcript will read: Multidisciplinary Concentration in Environmental
Studies.
