2004-2005
  • Position of Half Time instructor is added
  • Hosted First annual Massachusetts Deaf Film Festival
  • ASL lunch with Jeanette O’Campo Welch and Deaf-Blind guest Ona Stewart and ASL students ASL Film Series
  • “Sound and Fury” followed by a panel discussion
  • ASL students and Holy Cross Women’s basketball team hosted a reception with the National Women’s Basketball League team and deaf player Rhonda Jo Miller following a pre-season game against HC
  • DEAFinitely Figure Skating offered sessions for deaf children!
  • Guest Lecture Greg Reese shared his experiences being in four Deaf Olympic competitions
  • Hosted a statewide “Accommodations Fair” with NETAC
  • Debut presentation of the play “A Woman’s Life…monologues from the minds, through the hands of women who are deaf blind”
  • A Career Panel presentation from Holy Cross Alum- (Co-sponsored with Career Development and funded by the Lilly Grant funding)
  • Lecture by Heidi Zimmer- a deaf blind mountaineer. (Co-sponsored by CAB, Women’s Studies, SAG, ASL Club and Deaf Studies)
  • ASL/Deaf Studies Award reception with the John Philip family members
  • Holy Cross Academic Conference: ASL students present posters and presentations
  • Prof. Fask presented about the HC Deaf Studies Program at Deaf Studies Today conference in Utah

2003-2004
  • Holy Cross students (Christine Osborne and Ann Migliozzi) attend Gallaudet University as Special Students
  • Created CBL program with Big Brothers Big Sisters with Deaf “littles”
  • HC Deaf Studies program is awarded the Big Brothers Big Sisters Community Partnership Award
  • John Philip family is invited to our ASL year-end reception to announce the recipient of the John Philip Memorial Award
  • Established Laurent Clerc Award
  • “Study Abroad in England ” lecture by Holy Cross deaf students, Chris Tester and Christine St. John
  • Lecture “Journey to Cuba with Ayisha Knight” (Co-Sponsored with ASL club, Latin American studies, Women’s Studies)
  • “The Gallaudet Experience” presentation by Holy Cross students Christine Osborne and Ann Migliozzi

  • Installed 2 TTYs at public phone - Hogan Center and Hart Center
  • Father Joe Bruce, S.J. led signed Mass
  • Establish partnership with First Night Worcester for Deaf theater performance at FNW 2001

1999-00
  • Provided with work-study student for five hours per week
  • Workshop with Father Tom Coughlin, S.J.“How can a deaf Catholic be a good Catholic in the Catholic Church?”
  • 1st Deaf student attending Holy Cross (using ASL interpreter, other support services)
  • In-service for faculty and staff about communication access when teaching deaf students at Holy Cross
  • Massachusetts Relay Open Forum. Presented by Mike Finneran, Executive Director of the Austine School for the Deaf
  • Deaf Studies Certificate is awarded to students to recognize their commitment and depth of learning

1998-99
  • First student designed minor in ASL/Deaf Studies awarded to Sarah Barnes
  • Holy Cross Sign Choir for the Baccalaureate Mass began (comprised of graduating ASL students)
  • Lecture by Bill Heran to ASL and psychology students at Holy Cross
  • Participated in the Student Leadership Conference
  • Began ASL Film Series on campus
  • Signing Mass with Father Joe Bruce, S.J.
  • DEAFinitely Swim program- swim lessons in ASL offered to Deaf, hard of hearing, and CODAs
  • DEAFinitely Hockey moves to the Hart Center at Holy Cross

1997-98
  • Lecture by John Christiansen author of  Deaf President Now (co-sponsered with socioogy) 
  • National  Conference "American Sign Language and the College Curriculum: Connecting Cultures, Building Partnerships" with keynote speaker Dr. Sam Supalla
  • Co-sponsored national presenter Lynn Jacobowitz, “National American Sign Language Teacher’s Association” (With MA ASLTA and MSAD)
  • PAH- Deaf Youth theater workshop with youngsters and Holy Cross students. 
  • Visit from Ms. Deaf Massachusetts  
  • Host site for National Teleconference from Gallaudet 
  • Co-hosted national ASLTA workshop with presenter, Lynn Jacobowitz

1996-97
  • Birth of Judy's fifth child (September 1996)!
  • Student run ASL Club established by student Kathy Genga. 
  • ASL Club “After school Special” program began
  • Established The John Philip Memorial Award - given to an outstanding graduating student each year. 
  • PAH - Deaf Youth theater production of "Bird of a Different Feather"- open to  public.  Performed on campus with a student workshop

1995-96
  • Add ASL 3 in the Fall and ASL 4 in the Spring. 
  • 3D Show  presented by Joy Aubry- open to public. 
  • Learn to Skate for Deaf Children program
  • Started a Collaboration with Foothills Theater with HC ASL ushers during Interpreted performances
  • Ella Mae Lentz presentation- “Treasures”

1994-95
  • Grant from 3M VISION foundation for ASL courses. Three year grant. 
  • It’s a Deaf Deaf World co-hosted with Center for Living and Working Learn to Skate for Deaf Children began at the Horgan Skating rink in Auburn with Midstate youth Hockey program (now Worcester Jr. IceCats) (later name changed to DEAFinitely Hockey-offered in the fall annually since this time)
  • Ella Mae Lentz - "DEAFinitely Empowered"  (co-sponsored by Deaf Awareness Week Committee of Central Massachusetts)
