INTRODUCTORY LETTER
Written by: Meghan Pintavalle
Co-president, Holy Cross ASL Club
The idea behind the creation of this newsletter is to increase the availabilty of information about the Holy Cross Deaf Studies Program and its connections with the local Deaf community. The strongest aspect of this Deaf Studies Program is the Community Based Learning partnerships. Exposure to language in a natural setting is an invaluable addition to our classroom lessons. The students involved in the many varied CBL programs extend thanks to the active participation of the Deaf community. This newsletter will serve as a tool to share information about the CBL experience from differing points of view, provide an introduciton to the ASL / Deaf Studies Program, and hopefully provide an entertaining look at what is currently happening at Holy Cross.
