Community Based Learning for Faculty
The Donelan Office of Community Based Learning promotes an integrative teaching approach that combines academic learning in the classroom setting with engagement in the Worcester community. Faculty members, in conjunction with the CBL Office, develop learning partnerships that meet course objectives as well as the interests of local organizations. These partnerships are focused on either service and/or research projects collaboratively developed with a community partner.
Faculty interested in developing a CBL course can use this website to access sample syllabi and course assignments, an annotated bibliography on CBL pedagogy and practice, web links, and a listing of other useful resources for curriculum design and implementation.
