Donelan Office of Community-Based Learning
Community based learning at Holy Cross allows students to live out the College’s commitment to service and social justice by integrating theory with practice. Over 80 courses offer learning opportunities that may include service in a church, community and public service organizations, or educational and health institutions. Many placements consist of a weekly service commitment at a community site in the Worcester area. Other community-based learning courses focus on research that will benefit local organizations. Community based learning at Holy Cross invites participants to engage questions of moral, ethical and civic responsibilit in a "real world" setting.
The office provides these connections between courses and community sites thanks to a generous endowment established by Joseph P. Donelan II '72
