Computers
For information on purchasing a computer through the Holy Cross computer program please email bookstore@holycross.edu or phone (508) 793-3393.
The Holy Cross ITS Department cannot guarantee that a computer purchased elsewhere or brought from home can be successfully connected to the Holy Cross Local Network.
If students purchase their computer elsewhere, the system must meet the minimum standards found on the ITS Help Desk Web site or they will not be supported on the Holy Cross network.
The Network connection
The Dell computers purchased at Holy Cross have a local network card, a wireless card, and all of the necessary software pre-installed. Students have instant access, from their residence hall, to email, the Internet, the Holy Cross network and all campus resources.
Computers brought from home will need to have a network card installed before the necessary software can be loaded onto their computers. These cards should be on board your computers before you arrive on campus.
Students who purchase a computer elsewhere, or bring a computer from home, will need to install the Holy Cross software after they arrive. Instructions for doing so will be available during orientation; additionally the documentation can be picked up from the helpdesk.
Knowledgeable support staff
The Holy Cross computer program is fully supported by the ITS department. More information on computing at Holy Cross is available from the Help Desk Web site.
