Investing in Faith-based Traditions

Bible

The success of our efforts to offer a stellar educational experience hinges on our ability to realize the principles of Jesuit education. It is our Jesuit identity that fuels our mission and attracts the kinds of students and faculty that we prize. Our Jesuit ideals compel us to use that identity as a springboard to explore and make connections with people, ideas and values from myriad other traditions.

Our dedication to these ideals has become manifest in our Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture. Through the Center we encourage religious dialogue and promote social inquiry, both interdisciplinary and international in scope. We work with other colleges to examine the role of religion in education and in society at large. We bring leaders and scholars to campus for conferences, lectures and symposia, all of which enrich and inform dialogue on campus, throughout the community, and across the nation.

The Center is on the verge of national renown. Its programs have the potential to bring widespread recognition and prestige to Holy Cross, making ours a leading voice in the conversation about religion and culture. We are determined to make the Center a galvanizing force, drawing campus, Church and society together to explore and discover the many dimensions of religion and ethics in our society and the world. Such exploration is imperative for Holy Cross as a Jesuit college in the 21st century.
