Investing in Athletics

As part of the College’s commitment to the physical and social development of our students, several large-scale fundraising initiatives are underway that will help to provide the resources, both programmatic and physical, that will help our student-athletes make the most of their campus life:

Annual Fundraising

Crusader Athletics Fund

Join the Crusade for Athletic Excellence!
Beginning in September 2006, the College launched this new annual fundraising initiative for Holy Cross' 27 varsity programs. The money raised for this Crusader Athletics Fund will be entirely budget enhancing—over and above what is already budgeted by the College—and will be used for vital programming costs, including:

  • Coaching
  • Enhanced Recruitment
  • Equipment Upgrades
  • Financial Aid for Student-Athletes
  • Team Competition Travel

There is a strong need for support in all of these areas in order to remain competitive with our Patriot League, Atlantic Hockey, and other intercollegiate peers. Click here to make an online gift to the Crusader Athletics Fund and support the varsity program(s) of your choice.

**Due to the Gridiron Club’s fundraising success over the past two years, this football-specific fundraising program has become part of the new Crusader Athletics Fund. Members may continue to support the Crusader football program through this new annual Fund.

For more information, contact either Tom Cadigan ’02 (508-793-2415) or Scott Graham (508-793-3583) by telephone or by e-mail at crusaderathletics@holycross.edu.

Capital Fundraising

Brine ’52 Lacrosse Challenge
In an effort to build an endowment and help bring Holy Cross lacrosse to the next level within the Patriot League and among its Division I peers, William H. Brine ’52 has agreed to match $100,000 in donations to the program—he has even pledged to increase that match if sufficient interest is demonstrated. Alumni, parents, and friends who are interested in learning more about the Brine challenge and Holy Cross lacrosse may reach Phil Gibson, capital giving officer, at (508) 793-2667 or pgibson@holycross.edu.

Crew Coaching Endowment & Programs
The Thomas J. Sullivan ’70 Crew Coaching Endowment will be used to supplement existing funds to create full-time coaches for both the Men’s and Women’s Crew Teams. Other fundraising initiatives are helping to ensure adequate equipment and resources to help Holy Cross Crew maintain its current success. Alumni, parents, and friends who are interested in learning more about Crew fundraising may reach Tom Flynn ’85, director of principal giving, at (508) 793-2422 or tflynn@holycross.edu.
