Career Nights in New York City
Two events for students over the semester break in New York City served to demonstrate the strong sense of loyalty to Holy Cross and commitment to others that is so characteristic of a Holy Cross graduate.
January 9, 2006
On
January 9 at Fordham Law School, 40 students and parents had the opportunity
to network and learn more about various professions from 21 alumni representing
a number of career fields. Sponsored by the Holy Cross Club of New York,
the Holy Cross Lawyers Association and the Holy Cross Prebusiness and
Prelaw Programs, the event was a mutually beneficial experience for both
alumni and students. Alumni had the opportunity to interact with a terrific
group of young men and women and students were able to speak with graduates
employed in fields of interest to them and learn about career possibilities.
Professor David Chu, an accounting professor at Holy Cross and prebusiness advisor, and Patrick Comerford '93 co-hosted the event.
January 12, 2006
On January 12, the Holy Cross Leadership Council of New York welcomed students to a Finance Career Night coordinated by John Mullman '82 and hosted by Larry Doyle '83 at JP Morgan Chase.
The accumulated wisdom, knowledge and insight of 26 alumni from the financial services field was well received and appreciated by the over 35 students in attendance that night.
In what has become an annual event for students, the information and insight offered by alumni was a welcome addition to the students understanding of careers in the financial services field. Moreover, the extent and value of the Holy Cross Alumni Network was on display for all to see and experience.
