Networking 101 for Holy Cross Alumni in Financial Services

New York City: February 9, 2009

Networking 101Fifty alumni recently had the opportunity to attend a unique and valuable career networking event in New York City. Offered as a “how to” program, Introduction to Networking demonstrated the career networking capacity of the Alumni Online Directory and focused on the strategies and the do’s and don’ts of career networking.

John Winters, Director of Career Planning, and Bob Wally ’68, Coordinator of the Alumni Career Network, presented this practical and hands-on approach to career networking in the belief that, given the tools and an understanding of career networking, alumni will be better able to network, either now or in the future and whenever the need arises.

The event was sponsored by the Holy Cross Leadership Council of New York, Holy Cross Club of Metro New York City, Office of Alumni Relations and Career Planning Center. The initiative of the Leadership Council and in particular the support of Larry Doyle ’83, Council Chair, was instrumental in bringing this program about.

It is at difficult economic times like these and on the occasion of such events as this, that we are reminded of the added and long range benefit of a Holy Cross education - the strength of the alumni network and the commitment to being men and women for others.

If you would like to learn more about career networking, the Holy Cross Career Network welcomes your participation.
Alumni seeking or willing to provide career advice and support can do so through the Career Network.
