Holy Cross to Publish 2010 Alumni Directory

The Alumni Office is pleased to announce that work has begun on the new 2010 Holy Cross Alumni Directory. Scheduled for release in spring 2010, this limited-edition volume will be the most complete and up-to-date reference of more than 30,000 alumni worldwide.

The Alumni Office is working with Harris Connect, a leading alumni directory publisher, to produce the directory. Beginning in August 2009, alumni will receive e-mails and/or postcards from Harris requesting updated and verified profile information for inclusion in the directory. When contacted, please take a few moments to verify that we have complete and accurate information.

**Please note that even if you have confirmed your information through the online data form, you must call the 1-800 number provided on the postcard in order to complete your data verification. Once you have made this phone call, you will no longer be contacted by Harris Connect.

Q: Who will use this directory and what is the College's privacy policy?

A: The directory is for official Holy Cross and Alumni Association use, and also for individual communication of a personal nature between alumni listed within the directory. Use of this directory for any other purpose, including but not limited to, reproducing and storing in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical; photocopying; or using the addresses or other information contained in this directory for any private, commercial or political mailing is strictly prohibited and is in direct violation of copyright and constitutes intellectual property theft and misappropriation of corporate property.

Q: I received a phone call from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for Holy Cross. Is this a legitimate project?

A: Holy Cross has partnered with Harris Connect to produce our new alumni directory. Harris Connect is an industry leader in producing and publishing alumni directories for colleges and universities across the country.

Q: I want to verify my information is correct. How can I do this?

A: There are a few ways to accomplish this. If you have received an e-mail or postcard with a telephone number, you may call to speak with a representative, who will walk you through the verification process. If you have received an e-mail with a link to a Web address, you may go directly to that secure online site to check your information. If you have questions, you may call Harris's customer service desk at (800) 877-6554 or e-mail customerservice@harrisconnect.com.

Q: Can I choose for some or all of my information to not be printed in the directory?

A: Absolutely. You may tell the Harris representative what information you would prefer to have excluded when you call to update/verify your information. You may also communicate this information to the Harris customer service desk or to the Alumni Office. As a standard, the following information will be printed in the Directory:

  • Full name including your surname at Holy Cross - if different from your current last name
  • Degree/Year
  • Home mailing address
  • Home phone
  • Business address
  • Business phone
  • Preferred e-mail address
  • Occupation
  • Spouse name
  • Children's names

If you wish not to have certain information printed in the directory, you may choose to have specific details omitted.

Q: Who will be included in the directory?

A: All living alumni. If alumni request not to be included, we will honor these requests.

Q: I ordered a directory over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?

A: Call the Harris customer service help desk at (800) 877-6554, and they will take care of this for you.

Q: When will I receive my directory?

A: The new directory will be distributed in spring 2010.

Q: Can anyone purchase a directory?

A: The Holy Cross 2010 Alumni Directory is restricted for sale only to Holy Cross alumni.
