Why I chose Holy Cross: I chose Holy Cross because I knew that it was an environment that would allow me to grow academically, emotionally and spiritually. From the moment I stepped foot on Mount St. James, I knew that it was a place that would nurture me and allow me to reach my full potential as a student. The goal of a Holy Cross education is to push you intellectually and to allow you to think critically and deeply about everything you are faced with. In doing so, you begin to see everything with new eyes. The French writer Marcel Proust once said that “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes”. Holy Cross has given me these new eyes and has allowed me to view the world differently, which is the exact experience I was hoping for when I applied.
