Women's and Gender Studies
This concentration is a multidiscplinary program dedicated to understanding and interpreting the female and male experience as they are reflected in scholarship and society. With a particular focus on the female condition, students are introduced to the multiple voices of feminism and the diverse cross-cultural experience of women. In shape and focus, the program is broad enough to include a wide range of approaches while still allowing students the opportunity to develop and pursue individual disciplinary interests.
Women's and Gender Studies includes both a community-based learning component, linking theory to practice, and a capstone experience, which can be accomplished through a thesis, research project, tutorial, internship, or seminar.
