Music
The music department offers all Holy Cross students the opportunity to develop an understanding and appreciation of music, while providing its majors with serious, sustained musical training.
Music majors have the benefit of studying with an award-winning faculty of composers, performers, and musicologists. Class size is often small and there are many opportunities for specialized tutorials.
The College is equipped with excellent performance spaces, including the Brooks Concert Hall, which offers superb acoustics and is the venue for most concerts performed by music faculty and students. Other facilities include a music library with state-of-the-art listening equipment and a sizable collection of scores, books, recordings, and videos; practice rooms with pianos; a studio for electronic and computer music; music notation workstations; and a variety of traditional instruments.
