Gerontology Studies

A cooperative academic program of Holy Cross and four additional institutional members of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium (Assumption College, Clark University, Worcester State College and the University of Massachusetts Medical School), the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program (CGSP) nurtures an interest in the field of aging and provides a basic understanding of the spectrum of needs, concerns, and issues facing the fast-growing elderly population today and in the years to come.

Courses offered through the program can be taken at students’ home campuses or at any of the other participating campuses. In addition to course work, gerontology students undertake both supervised internships and guided research in the field.  A key aspect of the program is its partnership with 20 community elder agencies.

Upon completion of this seven course interdisciplinary program, students earn a certificate (concentration) in gerontology along with their bachelor's degree.
