Who’s Who in the Social Sciences

Amy R. Wolfson, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology

Amy R. Wolfson, Ph.D., professor of psychology and associate dean for faculty development, wants you to get more sleep. Wolfson is a leader in the rapidly growing field of sleep research, focusing on older children and adolescents. Her work points to the need for more sleep, and she has become a voice in the national debate about school start times. Wolfson received a $1.1 million grant from the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development for a 4-year study of middle school students in Worcester. “It’s wonderful that I’m able to involve Holy Cross students and recent graduates in this study. It gives them the chance to see what it’s like to work in a research setting. Mentoring students is my favorite part of this job.”
