Who’s Who in the Arts

Cristi Rinklin, associate professor of studio art

Cristi Rinklin, associate professor of studio art, paints a world beyond the senses. In her critically acclaimed paintings, Rinklin draws inspiration from the Baroque era and contemporary science and technology to create a fantastical world of the imagination. As a working painter who exhibits frequently, she is able to introduce her students to the art world beyond their classes — through visiting artists and trips to studios and galleries. Rinklin loves teaching at Holy Cross because, as she explains, “the liberal arts curriculum teaches students how to wrap their brains around ideas from all fields of knowledge. That's important, because art is fundamentally about expressing ideas. I want my students to know that being an artist is within their reach.”
