American Sign Language/Deaf Studies
The courses and opportunities in the Deaf Studies program teach students the basic language of American Sign Language and the culture of the Deaf community, as well as introduce them personally to members of the Deaf community.
In addition to coursework, students get actively involved in community learning partnerships where their classroom knowledge is applied to the "real world." Students can complete the necessary courses and earn a certificate in Deaf Studies and also have the option through the College's Center for Interdisciplinary and Special Studies (CISS) to develop and design a multidisciplinary major or minor which could include Deaf Studies.
