| Mission |
| The goal of the MAGIS PROGRAM is to call forth, to mentor, and to
recognize students who demonstrate potential for understanding
and exercising leadership in the contemporary Church
through a combination of practical ministerial experience
and prayerful reflection.
|
|
| Admissions Philosophy |
Participation in the MAGIS PROGRAM is a tacit articulation of one's
desire to lead an active worship life that reflects
a prayerful desire to integrate one's faith commitment
with the demands of a worshipping community and various
family and professional commitments. The burden of proof
to demonstrate this desire will always fall on the student
and will not be presumed by the Chaplains.
Acceptance to the program does not guarantee its successful
completion. The MAGIS PROGRAM seeks to identify students
who are willing to move beyond an attitude that accepts
fulfilling the minimum requirements of the program so
as to satisfy (simply stated) the letter of the law.
Rather, it seeks to nourish a faith commitment that
desires to satisfy the spirit of the law, one that reflects
the name of the program. It seeks to nourish the Ignatian-inspired
attitude that asks, "What more can I do for Christ?"
