Elm Park Community School Tutoring allows students to directly interact with children. Holy Cross volunteers are paired with an Elm Park student and over the course of the semester serve not only as an academic tutor, but also act as a mentor and role model. Elm Park consists mostly of minority students who oftentimes come from unstable living conditions and volunteers quickly become someone that the students look up to. Volunteers aid students in subjects and in areas they feel most comfortable. If one is looking for a great way to immediately immerse oneself in a program that helps society's most vulnerable members, then tutoring at Elm Park Community School is a perfect fit.
