Big Brother/Big Sister at the Canturbury Street School is a program that pairs each volunteer with a little brother or sister from the Worcester community.

These "littles" are elementary school students usually 8-12 years old. The Big Brother/Big Sister program runs weekdays after school, and volunteers can visit with their "little" any day that works for both the "big" and the "little." At the program, each "big" has the chance to play in the gym, do arts and crafts or help their "little" with homework.

The program is meant to give each child involved a mentor. It is important that volunteers visit with their "littles" every week, as this is a one-on-one program and the "littles" come to rely on the "bigs" presence. The goal is to foster a relationship between volunteers and their little brothers and sisters that goes beyond the 2-hour visit.
