Why Give?
Because it makes a difference
In his statements regarding the effects of the down economy on the College, Fr. McFarland describes the financial challenges Holy Cross is facing in the months and years ahead. The endowment is down sharply and the College will not be able to rely on income from endowment as it has in past years to support the operating budget.
Capital projects have been put on hold and the College is cutting costs significantly while committing not to cut areas that would compromise the quality of the education or reduce financial aid. The need for financial aid among our students is on the rise; rising faster than tuition and other revenue sources.
Donor generosity has been instrumental in preserving the mission and quality of Holy Cross, and, coupled with wise fiscal management, will help us come through this critical time in our history and emerge even stronger.
