With the competition for philanthropic support increasing dramatically in recent years, colleges, universities and other non-profits are investing greater resources in the area of “advancement.” While advancement offices might include functional areas such as development, alumni relations, and communications, our work is essentially about promoting the institution in the broader community to advance its mission.
